After being in the military, and then dealing with all the crap that followed, I thought we deserved a break. Just like always, life didn’t believe we earned one. The Deathstalkers MC were called upon by an ally of ours to provide safe haven to a single mother and her son. I didn’t know a lot about their story, but quickly found out every nitty, gritty detail. I’d heard it all from a third-party of course, but eventually I heard it straight from the horse’s mouth. I knew she must’ve been a strong woman since she packed up her shit and drove half-way across the country, but I had no idea she was a damn warrior. I’d never call her a victim, or a survivor. Raya was a warrior, through and through. She’d been fighting her battle on her own for years now, and I didn’t like the idea of her continuing to fight it alone. I was falling for the woman, and I found myself caring about her son, too. I wasn’t going to let anything happen to either of them, and God help the crazy son of a b**** who ever tried to harm them.
