As most of you know, I've been on a break since April and while I was trying to have the best time of my life, there's this part of me that just can't stop my creativity from working. There are moments when I'm in the middle of doing something and suddenly, a cover idea hits me. Whenever that happens, I just have to get to it because once it's gone, it's never coming back. At least, not exactly the same as it did before. I always had a thing for discreet covers even before it became a trend in the book industry. There's something about it that makes it special. Maybe it's the symbolism and meaning behind every element or object involved in the cover design. Or maybe it's simply something that speaks to me on a deeper level. This year, in celebration of my birthday, I decided to release a new set of discreet covers and there's something special about this batch that I haven't done in the past 10 years. Whether people will like it or not, that's no longer up to me. All I can tell you is that I love what I do and whenever I see the chance to try something new to broaden my creativity, I always make sure to grab it. This is where my creativity took me this time. Note: The rate written on the cover is for the EBOOK COVER ONLY. If you wish to purchase the print version, it'll be an additional $50. 5% Paypal fees aren't included in the rate listed above. Found a cover that reminds. you one of your stories? Wait no more! Fill out the order form here and don't forget to include the following details.
All covers are available for purchase. Strictly no reservations allowed. First come. First served. Every cover will only be sold once. You're probably wondering, what was the 'something special' I was talking about in this batch of premade covers. It's the cover below - the one titled "Butterfly Effect". This is the first time I'm using my very own custom photo for a book cover that I designed. So yes, the photo used in this is mine as well and you won't be seeing it in any other covers out there. And yes, that's from my personal accessories collection. This one is extra special to me so when the time comes that I'd be able to see this representing a story, that would be a dream come true for me! Some people asked me why is it that discreet covers seem to cost more than your typical model cover? I'm not speaking for other designers. I'm only speaking for myself and based on my own experience. For me, discreet covers takes so, so, so much more compared to a model cover. With discreet covers, you're literally starting with a blank canvas whereas working with a model, you already have your subject. All you have to do is work the design around the model.
Whenever you see a discreet cover and knows how much it costs to get it made, there are a lot of factors that you have to consider. First, it all starts with conceptualization. Where and how to start depends on how much information you're given about the story. There are moments that you're given a lot and there are moments when you're given a single idea. It's the designer's creativity that needs to figure out how to go from there. Once that's done, it's time for the hard part - finding the right images. You'll be lucky if you're able to find the photos that you need within an hour or a few. After hours and hours that felt like endless searching, you finally have the photos that you need. Now, the next step is turning your design concept into reality. It could work exactly the way you envisioned or not. If it doesn't, you'll need to fix it and figure out what's not working and how you can make it work. Sadly, there are times when it doesn't work so you'll end up changing the whole design. And while you're doing that, you'll have to make sure your layout works perfectly with the fonts and text details that you're using. There's the colors too. Besides all that, don't forget to factor in the money spent on the photos and fonts. And most importantly, the time it took for the designer to come up with the final design. There are moments that's not even everything there is to a discreet cover. There are moments when designers literally make the covers from scratch. What do I mean by that? They design the cover using multiple different brushes and techniques. They go wherever their creativity takes them and that's something you can't copy or duplicate in another design. Factor all those in then maybe...just maybe...you'll be able to understand why discreet covers seem to be a bit more expensive than your regular cover.

That's the thing I love about premade covers. I have all the freedom to design it however I want. I hope that you guys will enjoy them too! Also, if you're here and you're looking for a different type of cover, please feel free to go through the premade section on my site. You might find what you've been looking for. Happy browsing! Note: The rate written on the cover is for the EBOOK COVER ONLY. If you wish to purchase the print version, it'll be an additional $50. 5% Paypal fees aren't included in the rate listed above. Did you find any cover that made you fall madly in love with? Then don't let anyone else get the cover before your do! Fill out the order form here and don't forget to include the following details.
All covers are available for purchase. Strictly no reservations allowed. First come. First served. Every cover will only be sold once. For calendar updates and booking schedules, it's currently on hold since I'm still in the middle of organizing my schedule and prior commitments. I might post it at the start of the new year. If I finish earlier, I might post the updates before the year ends. It really depends. I'll be posting any updates on my Facebook so make sure you're following me there too.
Also, just a heads up. Regarding the calendar update and booking schedules that I'll be posting, it will most likely be for May 2023 onwards. No earlier than that. That's all for now! Wishing you and your family blessed holidays! After a month wait, CT Cover Creations is now back with a newly designed website! We have so many exciting stuff to share with everyone so be sure to go through each of them and tell us your thoughts! First, we've redesigned the whole website and added more pages for you to go through especially the portfolio and premade section. For the portfolio, we've added event banner, logo, and author branding. For the premade covers, you can now browse through them by genre. Second, we've updated our services & packages. If you're looking for something but you can't find it on the website, please don't hesitate to reach out to us and let us know what you're looking for. The services listed here are the main services we offer but it's not limited to those. We do pretty much all types of designing. Third, we've updated the testimonial page featuring the talented authors we had the pleasure of working with along with some of the projects that we worked on. If you're wondering what it's like working with CT, you already know where to go. Fourth, we're finally able to find some time to work on our premade covers and we're so thrilled to announce that we've created 11 new premade designs. What makes this batch exciting is that these are the type of covers that you haven't seen us done before. Something we’ve been wanting to do but never got the chance because we don’t receive these type of projects even though we always wanted to do it. This is what we love about premade. We get to do the type of covers we want and have all the freedom to go crazy with it. The rate listed on every cover is for the eBook cover only. If you wish to purchase the print version, it'll be an additional $50. Fifth, we are happy to announce that we've started designing author branding for a while now. Since it's a new service that we're offering, we only have a few designs to show you at the moment. Some of the branding we designed are still not released by the authors so we’ll have to keep it to ourselves for now. Once they share it, we’ll be sure to put it on the website too! Sixth, in celebration of the revamped website, we've decided to clean and update our premade covers. While going through them, we've decided to remove some of them. These are mostly our very first premade covers so they're at least about 8 years old. Instead of simply getting rid of them, we decided to offer it for free to whoever needs them hoping it'll help someone in any way. Yes, you read that right. We’ve giving away free ebook covers! This can be helpful for new authors or those who are planning a freebie book but doesn’t want to spend on the cover. There’s a total of 15 covers up for grabs. And to be fair with everyone, it’ll only be one cover per author. If you're interested in any of the covers, email us at ctcovercreations(at)gmail(dot)com. Seventh, like we mentioned previously, we've clean up our premade covers. Around 40 designs from our old premade covers are on sale. Price starts at $10 for an ebook cover so if you're looking for a quick cover while on a tight budget, head there now!
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who helped CT in making the revamp possible. It's a very time consuming project and it made me remember why I kept on delaying it. It was indeed a crazy journey, especially if you're both the graphic designer and the web designer. If you’re planning to do this, be ready not to sleep lol! No matter how crazy it was, I’m happy to say that I had an amazing time too! Thanks to those who supported me behind the scenes. Your emails and messages means a lot. I’m truly blessed to have you guys. I appreciate YOU.
Also, I want to thank all those who had been working me all these years. Thank you for sticking with me and for trusting me in every step of the way. I won’t be where I am now if it weren’t for you. The trust you put in me means so much and believe me when I tell you that it has a huge impact on the designs that I create. So thank YOU! Guess that’s all for now. Looking forward to all the new designs and adventures I’ll be sharing with you! Enjoy the rest of your April! Stay healthy and safe! P.S. For any inquiries, kindly drop us an email at ctcovercreations(at)gmail(dot)com. You can also reach us through our contact page. I always loved it whenever someone comes to me and asks to get their cover redesigned. Even more so when I'm also the one who designed the old cover. It makes me happy because it gives me the chance to see how I can improve an old work of mine. It helps me see the difference between me from years ago to the me now. And the most important thing is that the author and I can give an old book a new light to it!
Regret Me Not is one of the few covers I worked on when I was still starting out as a designer. As you can see, the old cover was designed in 2014 and if you remember, CT was established in 2013. That was ages ago! And man, does it make me feel old too! So big shoutouts to Danielle for giving me this chance and for trusting me again to design her cover once again. Be sure to show your support and buy your copy of Regret Me Not, which is available in Amazon in both eBook and Paperback! Still can't believe that CT Cover Creations is now celebrating its 8th year! I owe it to those who kept believing in me all these years so thank YOU, thank YOU, thank YOU! You have no idea how much you changed my life. I would've never thought I'll reach this milestone. Yes, for me it is. A huge and very important one too!
When I started doing this, I didn't even think I'd last for a year considering how my skills were. I can't help but cringe whenever I see my old works, like I want to dig a hole and hide. I was that student who belonged to the lowest group in the batch, you know? The one who never really have the talent. The ones who won't make it, they said. I was used to feeling that way since I never really did have the talent so it wasn't new to me. One, I'm a huge introvert. And two, I didn't bother about what others think of me. After all, it's my life not their's, right? So to finally find something that I truly love and enjoy doing, I'm beyond blessed. Funny how in the past, whenever I hear someone talk about passion, I can't help but laugh. Why you ask? It's because I couldn't believe what they were saying. Like is that really true? Only after experiencing it on my own did I fully understand what they meant. Nowadays, it's me saying the same thing and sometimes, all I can really say is, "Once it happens, you just know." It's hard to explain but yeah, it's different. So I'm grateful to God for leading me to this path. If I didn't become a cover/graphic designer, who knows what I'll be doing now. But like everything in this world, it also has its ups and downs. I've been disrespected so many times that I've lost count. I had clients disappear and not pay for the services I provided. I had people questioned me and made me feel I didn't deserve to be where I am. I had my fair share of bad experiences and they taught me things I would've never learned any other way. Over the years, and after what happened to me for the previous months, I've learn and realize a lot of things. I've learn to prioritize my health the hard way and those who don't understand this are people I shouldn't work with. I've known the people who truly have my back when things are difficult. You guys know who you are. Please know that I'm always grateful to you for the patience, the understanding, for giving me the chance, for always believing in me, and for being such an amazing person from different parts of the world who I can truly call a friend. Some of you are even considered my best friends! To be honest, some of you believe in me more than I believe in myself. It's a huge pressure at times but because of you, I learned to believe in myself more too. So thank YOU. I wouldn't be where I am now if it weren't for YOU! Thank you for being with CT for the past 8 years and hopefully, you'll continue to stay for more, more, and more years to come! And lastly, my promise to you - who had been trusting me and my capabilities all these years - is that I'll continue learning and improving my skills in any way and whenever I can so that I can give you better covers that will represent your stories. Again, I can't thank you guys enough for working with me. You changed a timid little girl's life more than you know. |
